Historia y ética

Thanks for further comments from Prof. LLurba.

What I think we need to watch out for is the kind of history that puts ideology above careful analysis of facts--and gthe etasing apart of facts from propaganda. In the case of Ilan Pappe, when I tried to search the internet sites, hudnreds were laudatory and protective, and barely a half dozen attempted to provide background to the case and the reasons for his dismissal from Haifa University. It is improtant that we find out who he is, what he was teaching and how he was active in the Knesset for the Israeli Communist Party. Revision of history through new insights and new modes of analysis is one thing; revisionism as a deliberated attempt to bolster one political ideology or group of persons over another is something else.
