I am a lecturer in modern English language attached to the Faculty of Foreign Languages and International Studies of Kanagawa University, Yokohama, Japan. My post-graduate research in history dealt with British foreign policy in the Middle East, 1945-1947. Since 2004 my research has been focused on two areas of Internet technology. The first is the development of e-learning systems for implementation in university undergraduate and post-graduate settings. The second area of focus is Internet and digital information technologies as these relate to the formulation of national security policy. The legal and conceptual implications of this relationship for researchers will be discussed in the presentation prepared for the present conference.
